ACE Group Inc proudly introduces our 2024 Assessor Jens Wehrmann

Jens has a long history of working as a highly respected Breeding Consultant for Gestüt Sprehe Stud one of the largest internationally recognised Stallion Stations in Germany for 7 and a half years. You may in fact recognise the name Gestüt Sprehe as they provided a big steppingstone for Simone Pearce’s international dressage career. Having also worked for the breeding associations Hanoverian, Oldenburg and Westphalian studbook his knowledge is extensive. Jens still works with Westphalian as a freelancer and does the voiceover for auction videos for foals, riding horses and for the stallion licensing of these associations.

He himself is a breeder, he has a 6-year-old home bred mare by Canoso/Chacco Blue/Stakkato which he has bred this year to Hickstead Blue. His father was a very successful breeder also, having bred State Premium mares, and showjumpers successful at advanced level. One in particular, the stallion Sambo a son of Sandro/Picard. Sambo went on to win 2 show jumping Nations Cups with Christian Ahlmann. Later Sambo was a member of the Mexican team at the WEG Aachen 2006 with Ariana Azcarraga.

Jens travels internationally judging, most recently, Czechoslovakia judging young horse classes plus the mares and foals. He also judged at their Show Jumping Bundeschampionate. He enjoys travelling and getting to know people from all over the world.

Jens says his favourite breed is a ‘good quality’ horse. He believes the horse itself must be a standout, not from a particular breeding association. He states the horse does not need to be from a certain stallion or a special breed. His main idea is the resulting horse must suit everybody, the professional and the amateur rider.

Having ridden since he was 9 years old, he rode a Hanoverian mare who was not an easy ride, but he learnt a lot from this experience. Jens’ father is the person who introduced him to riding and he spent most of his life riding and educating young home bred horses competing in young horse classes which he is extremely passionate about.

Through his extensive experience as a breeding advisor and commentary skills in front of worldwide audiences we are absolutely thrilled that we have secured Jens for our 2024 tour.
